Another one
Two people are talking long distance on the phone; one is in an East Coast state, the other is in a West Coast state. The first asks the other "What time is it?", hears the answer, and says, "That's funny. It's the same time here!" How is this possible?

I know. I'll wait a couple days to post the full answer, but it involves Daylight Savings Time.
Oregon (west coast) has a small section that is on Mountain Time and Florida (east coast) has a small section that is on Central Time. During the spring time change, the person in Florida sets the clock back an hour at 2am to 1am. The person in Oregon hasn't made the change yet since there it is still 1am. Thus, it is the same time despite the states being on opposite coasts.
